Mississippi unveils rural health grant opportunities
Mississippi’s Rural Health Transformation Program is launching funding opportunities to support projects that address gaps in rural health care, expand telehealth access and strengthen health care technology and infrastructure, state officials said.
Beginning June 1, the state will share information about the first three grant opportunities, including eligibility details, funding priorities and application requirements. Applications open June 15 and close July 15. Officials will review applications through the end of July and release awards in August. Interested applicants can register for a June 1 webinar and receive updates at MississippiRHTP.com.
The program is a state initiative aimed at improving access, capacity and technology in rural communities. Rural health programs typically focus on reducing travel burdens, addressing provider shortages and upgrading facilities and digital systems to allow broader access to primary and specialty care.
The grants could help counties and providers invest in capital projects, expand telehealth capabilities and modernize technology that supports patient care. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
