Northeast Mississippi Community College has been named an Apple Distinguished School for the third consecutive time, with the designation extending through 2029.
The college said it is the only institution of higher learning in Mississippi to hold the distinction. Students are using technology to create and collaborate in classrooms, labs, studios and the field as they prepare for what’s next.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
