Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office urges drivers to stop for school buses
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to stop when a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended. Drivers should not pass the bus because children may be crossing the road and can be difficult to see.
The office also urged motorists to slow down, remain alert and give students space as they travel to and from school, saying that a moment of patience can protect a child’s life.
