Tupelo man arrested in connection with armed robbery at Breeze-N store

Tupelo police have arrested a man accused of robbing a Breeze-N convenience store on North Gloster Street earlier this month.

On Jan. 3, officers responded to the store after a masked suspect armed with a knife demanded money from a cash register. During a physical altercation, the suspect stabbed an employee before fleeing the scene, according to police.

First aid was provided to the employee until medical personnel arrived. Authorities identified and arrested 41-year-old Otheno English of Tupelo on Jan. 5. He faces a charge of armed robbery.

Judge Allen of Tupelo Municipal Court ordered English held without bond on Jan. 6. The case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, officials said.
