Quincy Tyrone Eaton taken into custody after Greenville standoff

Quincy Tyrone Eaton was taken into custody after a standoff in Greenville following an investigation that began with a domestic-related incident on September 8, the Greenville Police Department said.

Police said Eaton allegedly entered a residence on East Moore Street and threatened a victim with an AK-style firearm. He later allegedly fled from officers, leading to a high-speed pursuit.

After crashing on Flanagan Road, Eaton allegedly fled into a field armed with a rifle, according to police. During the search, multiple shots were allegedly fired at officers, forcing them to take cover.

Eaton was located after continued investigative efforts and taken into custody following a standoff at approximately 11 a.m. that morning, police said.

Eaton faces several felony charges from the Greenville Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. The department said specific charges will be released as the investigation progresses.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
