K-9 Officer Mackenzie Rogers receives Blue Line Award after theft intervention

K-9 Officer Mackenzie Rogers received a Blue Line Award recognizing her awareness, proactive police work and dedication to community protection, according to the Oxford MS Police Department.

The department said Rogers was patrolling Highway 6 West on Aug. 22 when she noticed a vehicle leaving from behind a closed business. She intervened and discovered an active theft, the department said.

Rogers’ ability to build rapport with the vehicle’s occupants ultimately led to a full confession, according to the department.
