Claiborne County Community Asked to Line Highway 61 for Deputy Terrian Bailey’s Final Journey Home

Claiborne County residents and those in surrounding communities are being asked to gather along U.S. Highway 61 Tuesday afternoon to honor fallen Deputy Terrian Bailey as his body is returned home.

According to Claiborne County Sheriff Edward L. Goods Sr., the procession is expected to take place around 2:15 p.m. and will travel north along Highway 61 through Port Gibson before turning around near Northside Road. The procession will then head south on Highway 61 toward Barnes Funeral Home.

Community members are encouraged to safely line the highway with their families and American flags as the procession passes, offering a visible show of support for Bailey’s family and the law enforcement community.

Officials are asking everyone who attends to remain well off the roadway and follow any instructions given by law enforcement officers along the route.

The sheriff’s office said additional information regarding the estimated arrival and procession time will be released as it becomes available.

Bailey served the Claiborne County community as a deputy, and officials said Tuesday’s procession will give residents an opportunity to honor his service and welcome him home with dignity and respect.
