Hattiesburg man arrested in investigation of online threat tied to USM football game
LaDamien Hutchins, 24, of Hattiesburg, was arrested Thursday, September 10, 2026, by the U.S. Marshals Service in Poplarville, Mississippi, following an investigation into an online threat related to the University of Southern Mississippi football game on September 5, 2026. Hutchins is charged with Terroristic Threat.
The Hattiesburg Police Department said it worked with the University Police Department, Forrest County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service to assess the threat, identify the person involved and continue the investigation.
Authorities said there was never an active threat to the campus or surrounding community.
