Mississippi Transportation Commissioner Willie Lee Simmons has been named the guest speaker for Greenville’s Bottle Tree Art Exhibit, which the Mississippi Arts Commission and Delta Compass – WCEA will unveil on Historic Nelson Street on September 25th.
The exhibit is part of Mississippi’s ongoing America250 celebration. The announcement was made by the Washington County Economic Alliance.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
