Greenville leaders unveil Bottle Tree Park on Historic Nelson Street

Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons joined community, state and local leaders for the grand unveiling and presentation of Bottle Tree Park on Historic Nelson Street, according to the City of Greenville, Mississippi – Government.

The city said the park is an investment in the continued revitalization of Historic Nelson Street. Simmons said Nelson Street represents generations of Black entrepreneurship, culture, music, resilience and community, and that Bottle Tree Park honors that history while investing in the future of the corridor.

Simmons expressed appreciation to Mississippi Department of Transportation Central Commissioner Willie Simmons for investments throughout the Central District and for his commitment to moving the Mississippi Delta forward.

The mayor also thanked Justin Archer Burch and Delta Compass – WCEA for their vision and leadership, artist Lauren Bostic, Ward 4 Councilwoman Lurann Thomas-Kingdom, the Washington County Economic Alliance, the Mississippi Arts Commission, America 250, and the program participants, board members, partners and supporters involved in the project.
