Scott County deputies join Morton departments for 9/11 Walk/Run

Deputies Z. Holland, G. Seaney and V. Parks of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office joined the Morton Police Department and Morton Fire Department for a 9/11 Walk/Run in Scott County, according to a post from the sheriff’s office.

The event commemorated the lives lost, the families changed and the first responders who ran toward danger during the Sept. 11 attacks. The post said the gathering focused on remembrance, honor, sacrifice and unity.

The sheriff’s office said participants walked for those who did not make it home and ran in honor of those who gave everything. It also thanked Scott County residents for continuing to remember and honor the day.

The post concluded with a message of solidarity: “Scott County stands together. America stands together.”
