The Oxford Police Department, Lafayette County Sheriff's Office and Ole Miss Police are partnering with Communicare MS to host a free community Narcan training following the deaths of two students this week.
The training is scheduled for October 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the OPD Training Room, 9 Industrial Park Drive. Narcan will be provided to all attendees, and registration is not required. Everyone is welcome.

The agencies said the deaths have deeply affected the community and expressed support for the students' families, friends, classmates and others who are grieving.
The law enforcement agencies said the training is intended to provide life-saving training and tools while maintaining their commitment to holding people accountable for possessing or distributing illegal narcotics. They also said enforcement efforts will continue as part of their response to the issue.
