Hundreds of seniors attended a Senior Safety Bingo Bash at the DeSoto County Agri-Education Center, taking part in bingo, prize activities and a morning focused on safety information and community resources.
The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors hosted the event in partnership with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. More than 30 exhibitors participated, and volunteers also helped with the event.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
