The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks said the opening weekend of dove season was a success and encouraged hunters to take a youth along for a first hunt this season.
The agency described dove hunts as fun and laid-back, saying they offer an opportunity to pass hunting traditions to the next generation.
