Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office introduces ConfirmOK wellness check-in service

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has introduced ConfirmOK, an automated daily wellness check-in service for seniors, people who live alone and other residents who may need a daily check-in.

At a scheduled time, the service contacts participants by phone or text. Participants answer the phone and press 1 to confirm they are OK. If they do not respond after the designated number of attempts, an alert can be sent to a family member, caregiver, care group or designated emergency contact, depending on the participant’s setup.

ConfirmOK does not require a pendant, medical device or other special equipment. Participants use their existing phone.

Any Lowndes County resident who needs to be checked on can sign up. The sheriff’s office said the service may help seniors living alone, people who live by themselves, family members seeking an additional daily check-in for a loved one and residents who may benefit from regular wellness monitoring.

To register, residents can open the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office app and select the ConfirmOK sign-up link, which leads to a registration form. After registering, participants provide the information needed to establish the daily check-in and designated contact information.
