The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office has introduced Investigator John Dutton as part of its weekly “Meet Us Monday” feature, which highlights members of the office and aims to help strengthen connections with the community.
Dutton is from Festus, Missouri. He said he enjoys the variety of investigative work and the opportunity to make a difference by solving problems, determining the truth when answers are not obvious, and helping victims and their families get answers.

He also said the work requires critical thinking, communication and close attention to detail. Dutton said he values the way Lafayette County residents support one another during crises, recalling that during the ice storm he saw strangers help each other survive and rebuild.
