The Cops, Pops & Pups Adoption Event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Barksdale Pavilion in Jones Park.
The event will include a free pet vaccine clinic offering DAPP or HCP vaccines, along with adoptable pets looking for homes. Handmade popsicles also will be available.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
