Mississippi health department marks World Alzheimer’s Day

The Mississippi State Department of Health is marking World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21 by urging people not to ignore memory changes that disrupt daily life and to discuss concerns with a healthcare provider.

The department said recognizing possible warning signs and seeking medical guidance early can help families better understand what may be happening and explore next steps. The observance also recognizes family members, friends and caregivers who support people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
