Toppers sweep MUW, win 7-0

Blue Mountain Christian University women’s tennis team swept Mississippi University for Women 7-0 on Tuesday in Columbus, Mississippi, the school reported, earning decisive wins in both doubles and singles play.

The Toppers secured the doubles point early. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, Lina Cetina and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia took a 6-1 win at No. 2, and Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris closed the set with a 6-0 victory at No. 3, the school said.

Blue Mountain Christian carried momentum into singles, winning all six matches in straight sets. Mordiz prevailed 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Cetina won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, and Ramos posted a 6-0, 6-1 result at No. 3. Rodriguez Garcia won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, while Malyaporn and Terris each recorded 6-0, 6-0 victories at Nos. 5 and 6 to complete the shutout.

The Toppers displayed depth across the lineup, surrendering few games and controlling play from the opening serve, the school said. Blue Mountain Christian is scheduled to play Rust College on Thursday at 1 p.m.
