Southern Miss women’s basketball will open its 2026-27 schedule with an exhibition against East Texas Baptist on Oct. 27 at Reed Green Coliseum, the program announced. The regular-season opener is set for Nov. 2 against Mississippi Christian and will serve as the team’s annual education day.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Auburn on Nov. 5 for their first of two scheduled games against Southeastern Conference opponents. Southern Miss then begins a five-game homestand Nov. 9 against Mississippi Valley State, followed by games against Jackson State on Nov. 12, Jacksonville State on Nov. 16 and McNeese on Nov. 18. The homestand concludes with Mississippi State on Nov. 22 at Reed Green Coliseum.

Southern Miss will compete in the Iona Turkey Tip-Off in Iona, New York, from Nov. 27-28. The Golden Eagles will face Drexel in the opening game and then play either Iona or UMBC.
After the tournament, Southern Miss returns to Hattiesburg to play West Alabama on Dec. 2. The schedule then sends the Golden Eagles to UAB on Dec. 6 and Fresno State on Dec. 11. South Alabama visits for the start of Sun Belt play before Southern Miss travels to Old Dominion on Dec. 19 and VCU on Dec. 21.
The Sun Belt schedule runs through Feb. 26. The 2027 Sun Belt Tournament will be held in Pensacola, Florida, with the first round beginning March 2 and the championship game scheduled for March 8.
