Southern Miss tennis graduate Hannah Chambers named to All-Sun Belt Community Service Team
Southern Miss women's tennis graduate Hannah Chambers was named to the 2026 All-Sun Belt Community Service Team, an honor recognizing student-athletes for service, leadership and involvement in their communities.
Chambers recorded 13 individual service hours and contributed to 73 team service hours during the academic year. Her work included Hub City, the Edwards Street Food Drive, Trick or Treat at the Pete, Seymour's Closet and Healthy Kids Day.
As president of Southern Miss' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Chambers helped lead and organize service initiatives involving Golden Eagle student-athletes throughout the year. She also spearheaded the planning and execution of the 2026 Talon Awards, the university's annual event recognizing student-athlete accomplishments.
On the court, Chambers partnered with Miranda Xu in the Golden Eagles' doubles lineup during the 2026 season. The pair helped Southern Miss secure the doubles point in the program's first victory over Tulane and posted a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles against App State in the Sun Belt Championship.
Chambers and Xu also recorded doubles victories during Southern Miss wins over Jackson State and Southern earlier in the spring.
A Barbados native, Chambers competed internationally for Barbados before arriving in Hattiesburg and was selected to the Regional 16 & Under ITF/COTECC team. She also won junior titles at the J5 Villa and J5 Castries tournaments before beginning her Southern Miss career in 2022-23.
