Pearl River Community College said on its Facebook page that its softball team won the 2026 NJCAA Softball National Championship, the first national title in the program’s history.
Pearl River Community College is a two-year institution in Mississippi that fields intercollegiate teams. The NJCAA is the national governing body for junior college athletics, and its softball championship determines the top two-year college team in the country.
The milestone represents a major achievement for the program and its student-athletes. National titles at the NJCAA level can raise a program’s profile, aid recruiting and strengthen community support, experts and athletic directors say.
The college posted the announcement with the hashtags #PRCC and #RRR on its social media account. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
