Pearl River CC wins NJCAA Division II baseball title
Pearl River Community College of Mississippi won the NJCAA Division II national baseball championship after beating South Mountain 4-3 in 11 innings on a walk-off RBI single by Ethan Garner, the college said in a Facebook post.
The victory marks the second national championship for Pearl River in five years, underscoring the college’s sustained strength in two-year college baseball. The playoff win concluded an extra-inning game that the post described as a dramatic finish.
The National Junior College Athletic Association conducts national championships for two-year colleges across the United States. NJCAA Division II programs compete for national titles that highlight talent developing at community and junior colleges and often serve as a stepping stone for student-athletes seeking to move to four-year programs or professional opportunities.
The college’s social media post included the hashtag #RRR in celebration. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
