No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 21 Florida meet in Gainesville with matching 3-0 records

No. 4 Ole Miss will face No. 21 Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT. Both teams enter the matchup 3-0 overall and 1-0 in Southeastern Conference play.

The all-time series is tied 13-13-1, while Ole Miss holds a 6-5-1 advantage in games played in Gainesville. The Rebels are seeking their first victory in The Swamp since 2008.

Ole Miss brings the SEC’s second-fastest offense into the game, averaging 23.1 seconds per play. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy and wide receiver Deuce Alexander form the trio highlighted as options in the up-tempo attack.

The Rebels also lead the SEC and rank eighth nationally with 330.7 passing yards per game. Chambliss has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 16 consecutive games, a streak tied for third-longest in program history.

Ole Miss coach Pete Golding became the first FBS head coach to earn four victories over AP-ranked opponents within his first six career games. He enters Saturday’s game 4-1 against ranked opponents, and the matchup will be his first career meeting with Florida.

Florida coach Jon Sumrall has faced Ole Miss three times as a head coach, with all three meetings coming during his tenure at Tulane. Sumrall is 0-3 in those games.
