Lady Toppers open season with 6-1 win over Millsaps

NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University opened its 2026 season with a 6-1 victory over NCAA Division III Millsaps on Saturday, the athletics department said.

The Lady Toppers claimed the doubles point by winning all three flights. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos won 6-2, Lina Cetina and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia also won 6-2, and Valeria Manquillo and Kiersten Terris posted a 6-0 victory to secure the early advantage.

In singles, Mordiz won the No. 1 match by forfeit. Cetina defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-2, and Manquillo won 6-0, 6-2 on Court 3. Ramos dropped a close match on Court 2, 3-6, 6-2, 8-10. Rodriguez Garcia won 6-0, 6-0 on Court 5, and Nami Malyaporn closed out the scoring with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on Court 6.

Blue Mountain Christian improved to 1-0 and will play Rust College on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. CT. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
