Blue Mountain Christian earns NAIA Champions of Character gold medal

Kansas City, Mo. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced this week that Blue Mountain Christian University has been recognized as a Champions of Character Five-Star Institution at the Gold Medal level for the 2025-26 academic year.

The NAIA Champions of Character program recognizes college athletics programs that emphasize integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership, core values promoted across NAIA member institutions. The Gold Medal designation denotes the highest tier of recognition within the program.

Blue Mountain Christian University’s athletics department reported the recognition on its athletics website. The university fields intercollegiate teams that compete under the NAIA banner and said the award reflects efforts across its athletics programs to prioritize character and leadership development among student-athletes.

The recognition highlights the broader push in collegiate athletics to combine competitive performance with educational and ethical development. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
