Guest posts about White House dinner with President Trump, Melania

A Facebook post said, “Great to be with President Trump and First Lady Melania for dinner tonight at the White House!” The short message did not identify the account holder or provide further details about the event.

White House dinners can range from private social meals to formal events that include aides, donors, foreign diplomats or political allies. Such gatherings often attract public attention because of the prominence of the president and first lady and their roles in national and diplomatic life.

Social media has become a common way for guests and public figures to announce attendance at high-profile events, offering immediate but sometimes limited information. The Facebook post did not specify the date, purpose of the dinner, who else attended or whether the gathering was private or official.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
