Tupelo-Area Dad Leads Group in National Super Dad Competition
SALTILLO, Miss. — A Tupelo/Saltillo-area father of five is leading his group in the national Super Dad competition as it approaches the first elimination round.
Lucas Foley is currently ranked first in his group. The eventual winner will receive $25,000 and appear in a national television commercial provided by Ace Hardware. The competition also raises support for Children’s Miracle Network.
Foley and his wife have five children and have served as foster parents. They have adopted and remain involved in foster and adoption ministry.
“Fatherhood — and trying to be present and intentional with our children — has shaped a significant portion of our lives,” Foley said.
On his competition profile, Foley describes himself as an entrepreneur, farmer and children’s book author. He says anything the family does is done with “hard work and dedication,” and he wants his legacy to be one of dedication to God, family and those in need.
If he wins the $25,000, Foley plans to use it to develop a tool that helps families teach young children how to cool their food — an idea his kids have been working on with him from the start.
