On Monday, the family of House of Representatives member Ron Wright announced Wright’s passing after a battle with the novel coronavirus at the age of 67.
Wright is the first sitting member of Congress to die from COVID-19. He had been admitted with his wife, Susan, to Baylor Hospital after their symptoms further developed.
Wright has been serving in the House as a Representative of Texas while battling lung cancer. He was elected to serve Congressional District Six in 2018.
