Vicksburg police welcome newest ‘recruit’ during visit

Vicksburg Police Department said on its Facebook page that Scott Golding visited the department last week with his grandmother and was welcomed as the agency’s newest “recruit” in a lighthearted community visit.

The department said Scott enjoys playing police officer and spends his time making sure the “bad guys” are arrested, according to his grandmother. During the visit, Scott got a look inside a patrol vehicle, met several officers and stopped by to see command staff, the post said.

The Vicksburg Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Vicksburg, Mississippi. Police departments frequently host brief tours and meet-and-greet visits to foster community relations and give residents, especially children, a chance to learn about public safety roles.

The department thanked Scott for the visit and said it enjoyed meeting him. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
