Vicksburg police announce parent meeting, sign up players for street ball season

VICKSBURG — The Vicksburg Police Department is inviting parents to a parent meeting and sign-up day for the upcoming street ball season on June 2 at 5:30 p.m., the department said.

The event will be held in the courtroom at 820 Veto St. and aims to register players and share information about the season. For more information, organizers ask parents to contact Danielle Williams at 601-218-1766.

The department said the street ball program is designed to bring the community together through basketball, mentorship, teamwork and fun. Youth sports programs run by law enforcement agencies often seek to build relationships between officers and young residents and provide structured activities during after-school hours.

Vicksburg Police Department is the city’s primary law enforcement agency and has organized community initiatives and youth outreach in the past, the department said. Organizers say the street ball season offers an opportunity for families to connect with coaches and volunteers and to learn about schedules and expectations.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
