State Auditor Shad White meets Neshoba County sheriff
State Auditor Shad White met with Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark and his team, White said in a Facebook post. In the post, White added that “Neshoba County is in good hands.”
The meeting brings together the state’s chief fiscal watchdog and local law enforcement leadership. The state auditor’s office conducts audits of public funds and works to ensure accountability and transparency in state and local government operations.
Neshoba County, in east-central Mississippi, relies on the sheriff’s office for patrol, jail operations and community safety, responsibilities typically managed by elected county sheriffs. Meetings between the state auditor and local law enforcement officials can help improve coordination on issues such as fiscal oversight, grant administration and public-safety funding.
Details about the topics discussed at the meeting were not provided in the Facebook post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
