Hattiesburg holds Parade of Champions Monday

Hattiesburg will hold a Parade of Champions at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, to celebrate recent state titles and other local honors, organizers said in a Facebook post. The post noted that Hattiesburg High School’s boys and girls track and field teams won Class 6A state championships the previous day.

The parade will begin in the Sacred Heart High School parking lot and follow a route down West Pine Street, turn right onto Front Street, turn left onto Main Street and end at the Rebekah Stark Johnson Community Arts Center, organizers said.

Officials said there will be two announcer stages: near City Hall at Forrest Street and West Front Street, and on Main Street near the entrance to the Pocket Museum alley. Road closures along the parade route will begin shortly after 5 p.m.; drivers should plan ahead, use alternate routes and watch for pedestrians.

More than 40 groups from across Hattiesburg will participate. The event is a community celebration of students, athletes, teams and organizations that organizers say are carrying Hattiesburg forward. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
