Starkville warns of temporary road closure for motorcycle rally

Starkville, Mississippi — The Starkville Police Department warned residents of a temporary road closure Thursday, Aug. 21, as motorcycles travel through the city for the 2026 Little Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Dinner Ride, the department said in a Facebook post.

The post said riders will leave Sturgis at 4:00 p.m. and are expected to arrive in Starkville around 4:20 to 4:30 p.m. Motorists should expect brief delays along the route while the group passes through.

The Little Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the source event for the organized dinner ride. Starkville, home to Mississippi State University, frequently hosts visitors and events that can affect local traffic and parking patterns.

Officials cautioned that short-term closures and slow-moving traffic are likely and advised drivers to allow extra travel time and exercise caution near groups of motorcycles. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
