Starkville police chief speaks to Mississippi State criminology seniors
Chief Ballard of the Starkville Police Department spoke Monday to Mississippi State University criminology seniors about careers in law enforcement and the realities of the profession, the department said in a Facebook post.
The department said it appreciated Dr. David May for the invitation and for helping connect future graduates with real-world insight into the field.
The Starkville Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Starkville, Mississippi. Mississippi State University’s criminology program prepares students for careers in policing, corrections and other criminal justice fields, offering coursework and practical training intended to ready graduates for the workplace.
Visits by law enforcement leaders give students direct exposure to career options and the day-to-day challenges officers face, and they can strengthen ties between agencies and university programs that train future public safety professionals.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
