Sheriff honors Pike County 911 dispatchers during National Telecommunicators Week
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones hosted an appreciation luncheon April 14, 2026, to honor the Pike County 911 Dispatch Center during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 12–18, 2026), the sheriff’s office said.
Jones was joined at the luncheon by 911 Dispatch Center Executive Director Tina Reed, 911 Dispatch Center Supervisor Princess Anderson, Chief Deputy Damian Gatlin, Major Jewel Hines and other staff members in recognizing the contributions of the dispatch team, the office said.
Often unseen but essential, 911 dispatchers and communications personnel serve as the first point of contact in emergencies, providing calm, guidance and life-saving support, the sheriff’s office said. “We care about our people, and this appreciation luncheon is all about them,” Jones said.
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is observed annually to recognize the professionalism and dedication of emergency communications personnel. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department provided the information. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
