Starkville police on May 7 arrested a third suspect in the Aug. 22, 2025, shooting at The Social Block apartment complex, the department said in a news release posted on Facebook.
Gabriel Blanchard-Dyson, 19, of Starkville, was arrested on Lamont Lane in Oktibbeha County by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force on a warrant charging attempted murder, the release said. The victim, who sustained critical injuries in the incident, continues to recover, the department said.
Blanchard-Dyson joins Marshall Overstreet, 21, and Jaylon Ware, 21, both of Starkville, who were previously charged with attempted murder in the same case. The shooting occurred about 9:50 p.m. Aug. 22 in the parking lot area of The Block Townhomes and The Social Block apartments on South Montgomery Street, according to the release.
