Starkville hosts National Night Out Aug. 4

Organizers invite residents to National Night Out 2026 on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6-9 p.m. at the Starkville Sportsplex on Lynn Lane. The event aims to build connections between neighbors and law enforcement and will feature free food, games and family activities.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Communities across the country hold events to encourage residents to meet local officers, share concerns and strengthen ties that support public safety.

Organizers said they welcome donations, volunteers and organizations that would like to host a table. Selling items at the event is not permitted. Those interested in participating are asked to contact Corporal Kenya Bibbs at 662-769-0971 or k.bibbs@cityofstarkville.org to get involved.

The event offers an opportunity for local residents to connect with neighbors and public-safety personnel in a family-friendly setting. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
