Starkville holds National Night Out at Sportsplex Aug. 4

Organizers said in a Facebook post that Starkville will hold National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, from 6-9 p.m. at the Starkville Sportsplex on Lynn Lane.

The post said the event is intended to build real connections between neighbors and law enforcement and will feature free food, games and activities for the whole family.

National Night Out is an annual, nationwide community-building campaign that began in 1984 and seeks to promote police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention efforts. Communities commonly observe the event with block parties, safety demonstrations and opportunities for residents to meet local officers.

Organizers say events like this give residents and officers a chance to interact informally, which can help strengthen trust and cooperation around public safety. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
