Southaven police thank Lenny’s after Subs with a Cop event

Southaven Police Department in Southaven, Mississippi, thanked Lenny’s Southaven on Facebook for inviting officers to a recent “Subs with a Cop” event, saying staff were welcoming and that they enjoyed everyone who stopped by to eat and spend time with them.

The department posted that it appreciated the invitation and the opportunity to connect with residents. “We love connecting with our friends in the community,” the department said in the Facebook post.

Subs with a Cop events are a common form of community policing in which law enforcement officers meet residents in informal settings, often at local restaurants, to build rapport, answer questions and foster trust. Departments across the country use similar outreach to make officers more accessible and to encourage two-way communication with the public.

The Southaven Police Department serves the city of Southaven in DeSoto County and regularly highlights community engagement efforts on social media. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
