Sgt. McCormick, Investigators Chisholm and Patterson, Deputy Floyd graduate from Itawamba program

Sgt. McCormick, Investigator Chisholm, Investigator Patterson and Deputy Floyd graduated this week from Itawamba Community College’s first In-Service CORE Program for Instructor Development, according to a Facebook post announcing the completions.

The inaugural course was designed to equip law enforcement officers with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to develop, instruct and deliver professional training to fellow officers, the post said.

Itawamba Community College, a public community college in northeast Mississippi, offers academic and workforce training programs, including public safety education and continuing professional development for local agencies.

Instructor development programs like the CORE course aim to improve the quality and consistency of law enforcement training by providing officers with standardized teaching methods and curriculum design skills. Agencies often rely on such programs to ensure that in-service training meets state or departmental standards and adapts to emerging public safety needs.

Details about the length of the course, the instructors or the agencies represented by the graduates were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
