The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that deputies and staff spent the weekend participating in several community events, including meetings with local organizations in Forest and a church homecoming.
The agency said it attended an invitation from El Pueblo in Forest, where officers listened, learned and discussed concerns affecting the Hispanic community. The post said building relationships through open communication is an important part of serving everyone in Scott County.
The sheriff’s office also joined men affiliated with Men’s Adult & Teen Challenge for fellowship and shared a devotion the office described as focused on faith, hope and perseverance. Men’s Adult & Teen Challenge is a faith-based recovery and discipleship program that operates programs in many communities.
Finally, the office attended the 150th Homecoming Celebration at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and congratulated the congregation on 150 years of ministry and community service. The post offered blessings for the church’s future generations.
