Pike County sheriff supports America’s 250 celebration
Pike County Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones and members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office recently took part in Southwest Health’s America’s 250 Celebration Part II, the sheriff’s office said. The agency set up an informational booth to engage residents and share details about public-safety services.
Deputies handed out stuffed animals to children, spoke with families and used the event to strengthen community relationships, the sheriff’s office said. Sheriff Jones said building trust begins with being visible in the community and creating positive experiences for youth.
“We are honored to support events that bring our community together,” Sheriff Jones said. “America’s 250 Celebration is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our nation’s history while strengthening the partnerships that make Pike County such a special place to live.”
America’s 250 marks the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding and has prompted local celebrations and partnerships across the country, with health systems and public-safety agencies often collaborating on community events. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office extended thanks to Southwest Health for hosting the celebration.
