Picayune police arrest four after fight involving firearms
PICAYUNE, Mississippi — Patrol officers with the Picayune Police Department responded about 8:13 p.m. June 8 to the Lewis Circle area in reference to a fight involving firearms, and after a foot pursuit apprehended four people at the scene, police said.
Police identified the suspects as Lamar Davon Ankrum, who was arrested on a charge of concealing a deadly weapon and on a warrant for simple assault; Waldemar Nigelio Wallace, who was arrested for providing false information to a law enforcement officer; Gregory Damien Davis, who was arrested on an active bench warrant for speeding; and Willie Edward Smith, who was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.
The department said officers engaged in a foot pursuit with several suspects upon arrival and that all four were taken into custody a short time later. The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office assisted Picayune officers at the scene, the department said.
