Picayune police arrest driver after traffic stop finds stolen Glock
Picayune patrol officers arrested a driver May 29 after a routine traffic stop for a failure to signal led to the discovery of a stolen handgun, the Picayune Police Department said.
Officers stopped a gold Ford Fusion on Weems Street near Taylor Street and, during the encounter, said they developed probable cause to search the vehicle. A Glock handgun reported stolen was located inside the car, the department said.
The driver, identified by police as Aurorie Rashaud Jenkins, was placed under arrest on a felony charge of possession of a stolen firearm and cited for no turn signal and improper equipment, the department said in a Facebook post.
The Picayune Police Department enforces traffic and public-safety laws in Picayune, a city in Pearl River County in south Mississippi.
