Oxford Police release Episode 2 of The Protectors on K-9 training

Oxford Police Department posted Episode 2 of its video series “The Protectors” on its Facebook page, highlighting the daily training that prepares its K-9 teams for patrol duties. The short reel shows handlers and their dogs working through drills, scenarios and skills the department says help keep the community safe.

K-9 units play a range of public safety roles, including tracking suspects, searching for missing people and detecting narcotics or other contraband. Regular training helps maintain the dogs’ obedience, agility and scenting abilities and ensures handlers and animals can operate safely under stress.

The department’s post included hashtags such as #oxfordpd, #theprotectors and #k9training and appears aimed at giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement operations and community engagement efforts.

Details about the series schedule or additional episodes were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
