Oxford Police Department on Wednesday honored Shelby Hernandez for her work as the department’s data analyst, saying her experience and dedication make her an invaluable member of the team.
The department posted on Facebook that Hernandez has “years of experience in a variety of positions, including evidence custodian,” and has served in roles ranging from dispatcher and records clerk to court liaison and evidence custodian.
Chief Jeff McCutchen said, “Shelby is a blessing to both our City and our department. She has a wide range of skills and has excelled in every role she’s served, from dispatcher and records clerk to court liaison and evidence custodian. But what truly sets Shelby apart is her personality and the genuine care she has for people. She’s often one of the first faces our community sees when they walk through our doors, and she represents the Oxford Police Department with professionalism, kindness, and compassion every day. We couldn’t be more proud to have Shelby on our team.”
Police data analysts typically manage records and analyze information to help departments identify trends and allocate resources; the department thanked Hernandez for serving “with wisdom and compassion while creating a safe and connected community.”
