Oxford police celebrate Camp C.O.P.S. summer sessions
The Oxford Police Department said in a recent Facebook post that it wrapped two weeks of Camp C.O.P.S. this summer, thanking children and families who participated and noting that school resource officers enjoyed spending time with campers.
The post, shared with hashtags #OxfordPD and #CampCOPS as a Throwback Thursday message, described the sessions as “two great weeks” and praised an “amazing group of campers,” adding, “See you next year.”
Camp C.O.P.S. is broadly known as a law enforcement youth outreach program that connects officers and young people through recreational and educational activities designed to build trust and foster positive relationships. The Oxford Police Department, the city’s municipal law enforcement agency, often highlights community initiatives such as summer camps to underscore its public engagement efforts.
