Oxford Police attend retirement planning webinar

Members of the Oxford Police Department recently attended a retirement planning webinar presented by the National Tactical Officers Association, the department said in a Facebook post.

The program, called Retirement by Design, was taught by a former law enforcement officer who now works as a financial advisor, the department said. The instructor focused on helping police department employees better understand and prepare for life after careers in public service.

The National Tactical Officers Association is a national organization that provides training and resources for law enforcement agencies. The department said opportunities to learn about retirement planning and financial skills are part of its effort to support officers’ long-term well-being and career sustainability.

Officials said planning for the future, learning new skills and gaining knowledge outside day-to-day police work are important to building healthy careers. The department said it is proud to provide opportunities that support staff while they serve and as they plan for the years ahead. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
