Organizers urge public to get plates at Blaine Rood fundraiser

Organizers said in a Facebook post that plates remain available at a fundraiser for Dispatcher Blaine Rood and urged residents to pick them up at a pavilion on the corner of Davis Avenue and East Second Street.

The post, which included the line “Run…to get your plate,” said, “We have plenty of plates left at the Dispatcher Blaine Rood fundraiser!” The post did not provide additional details about the reason for the fundraiser or the hours of service.

Dispatchers play a central role in public safety by coordinating emergency responses and relaying critical information to first responders. Community fundraisers that sell plates or meals are a common way for neighbors to show support for local public servants, cover unexpected expenses or assist with recovery efforts.

Organizers encouraged anyone in the area to stop by the pavilion at Davis Avenue and East Second Street while plates remain. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
